Ocala, FL (August 12, 2014) – Chester Weber has been enjoying the winningest year of his career both in the US and Europe and after another successful weekend at Reisenbeck he has taken over the top spot in the world and is ranked number one in Four-in-Hand driving in the FEI World Rankings.

The team of KWPN geldings owned by Chester Weber and Jane Forbes Clark has proved to be a formidable force as the drove their way to top spot in the world. “It’s very cool to be number one on the FEI world rankings,” Weber said. “There’s really nothing that compares to reaching this point and sharing it with an incredible team of athletes and staff. To reach number one requires a team of far more than a four-in-hand and I’ve been very lucky to work with incredible fellow horsemen. They are number one, too “.
The Ocala, Florida based Team Weber was undefeated across numerous international competitions all summer and the string of victories included becoming the first American to win the Four–in-Hand at CAIO4* Aachen and one of only 10 equestrians from the US to ever win there in Aachen’s 90-year history. Another memorable highlight this season was personally accepting the victor’s trophy and congratulations at CAI3* Windsor from HRH Queen Elizabeth.

Weber took over the number one ranking in the world after also finishing sixth, with a second team, in the prestigious German Fahrderby at Riesenbeck, where he has led its victory lap three times since 2004, when he became the first American champion in its 50-year tradition. Prior to Weber assuming the number one slot, the top ranked FEI four-in-hand driver in the world was Joszef Dobrovitz of Hungary.

The ranking puts Team Weber solidly in position to storm Normandy and hopefully raise an American flag from the medal podium at the upcoming Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, August 23 – September 7, in Normandy, Caen, France
The 11-time US National Four-in-Hand Driving Champion is no stranger to representing his nation in WEG competition, having already earned a US Team Bronze, and twice earning Individual Silver medals at the World Equestrian Games.
