Ocala, FL(July 31, 2014) – With another World Equestrian Games looming on the horizon for USA’s Chester Weber and his team of KWPN geldings, preparation and conditioning over the past months and years will ultimately define their success. As they prepare to tackle the competition at the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France, Team Weber have at their backs a team of sponsors and supporters who provide them with the best in equipment, care, feed, and performance essentials. One of those avid supporters is The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Center, which has its main campus located in Weber’s hometown of Ocala, Florida. The Sanctuary’s state of the art conditioning and rehabilitation services have been giving horses all over the country a winning edge, and are a key ingredient in Weber’s strategy to keep his horses at the top of their game since 2008.
Fresh off a recent history making win at the 2014 World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany, Team Weber will now set their sights on the ultimate prize: the World Equestrian Games. As the first American to ever win the Four-in-Hand division at the CAI4* Aachen and after going undefeated so far in 2014, the 11-time US National Champion and Team Silver and 2-time Individual Silver Medalist at previous World Equestrian Games is now in an excellent space to compete at Normandy. Achieving this state of balance between fitness, performance, and training is exceptionally important when competing on the international level, and with the help of The Sanctuary, Weber has been able to keep his horses exactly where they need to be.
“My horses have benefitted from the conditioning and services offered at The Sanctuary for more than 6 years,” said Weber. “The Laser, Magnawave, and Cold Salt Water Leg Spa are key contributions to keeping my horses in peak performance shape. Along with a long and healthy relationship with The Sanctuary, there is also a trust factor. The Sanctuary’s certified technicians really know their job and care about the horses’ safety and progress. The Sanctuary was an important part of my conditioning for the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky and they have been an equally important partner in preparing my horses for our trip to Europe this year.”
Located on 30 acres in Ocala, The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center offers the latest in technological equipment designed to promote safe and rapid advancement for horses recovering from injury or in heavy work. The Sanctuary features an Equine Hyperbaric Chamber with box stall type freedom of movement while therapy is administered, as well as an Aqua Pacer Water Treadmill, the safest, most effective water treadmill available. The center also features: a Cold Saltwater Leg Spa featuring 34 degree, highly salinated water for all types of leg therapy; an Equine Swimming Pool – a 110 foot long, 14 foot deep inline pool with therapeutic water; a 5/8 mile race track; two Eurocisers with therapeutic tracking surface – one undercover and one outdoors; Solariums; Temperature-controlled veterinary inspection area with semi-surgical lighting, and rubberized surfaces in most areas.
“We have enjoyed a long and successful history with Chester and are honored to be a part of his team as they head for the World Equestrian Games,” said Brenda McDuffee, General Manager of The Sanctuary.
