Aachen, Germany (July 16, 2014) In keeping with his nickname “Mr. Dressage,” Chester Weber and his team of KWPN geldings owned by himself and Jane Forbes Clark took an early lead at the prestigious CAIO4* in Aachen.  Weber topped the Individual Driven Dressage with a score of 35.67, the only score below 40.

Due to inclement weather at Aachen over the past week, the footing was less than ideal, but Team Weber did not break stride.  Weber drove Boris, Para, Splash, and Uniek in the dressage on Wednesday to top Boyd Exell of Australia with a 40.47 and Theo Timmerman of The Netherlands with a 41.60.  The Ocala, Florida resident has been extremely successful on his European tour, and has set his sights on representing the USA for the third time at the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy.

“Our team continues to show their preparedness in dressage as we prepare ourselves for the World Equestrian Games,” said Weber about their performance.  “Today the footing proved to be a challenge for all of the competitors, yet our team dug in and handled the deep ground without a hitch.”

The Four-in-Hand driving individual competition at the World Equestrian Festival will continue with the cones phase on Friday, July 18 and culminate with the marathon phase on Saturday, July 19.
