<\/a>\u201cWe were really pleased,\u201d Weber said. \u201cWe took what I refer to as the B-team, our developing horses, to this event and they all did really well.\u201d Weber commented on the newest horse on his team, the 7-year-old Gouveneur who replaced fellow potential WEG contender, Reno at the test event, Weber said, \u201cHe did a great job. I was really pleased; he is developing well.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event also served as an opportunity to experience the International Tryon Equestrian Center, as the test event was the center\u2019s very first driving competition ahead of the center hosting the 2018 WEG driving events.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe stabling was super horse-friendly and nice,\u201d Weber said of the facility. \u201cThe horses seemed quiet, relaxed and comfortable which is important, and they all seemed happy there.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event\u2019s success was particularly gratifying coming off Weber\u2019s recent victory at Live Oak International\u2019s combined driving competition, which earned Weber an unprecedented 15th USEF Four-in-Hand National Championship and Jean Keathley Perpetual Memorial Trophy for best FEI Dressage Score.<\/p>\n
Weber hopes his performance at Tryon leads to another opportunity to represent the States this fall, as Weber has traditionally played a significant role in earning the U.S. team international Four-in-Hand medals.
