Dade City, FL (March 1, 2012) – One year after adding the talented horses Uniek and Splash to his team, Weber once again drove away as the winner of the FEI Four-In-Hand division at the 2012 Little Everglades Combined Driving Event. Weber debuted Uniek and Splash at the Dade City, Florida, competition last year and returned this year to reclaim his title.

“I was very pleased with how my team performed. They were super,” Weber said. “One of the highlights of the event was our dressage test. It went very well with Uniek and Splash, who are owned by Jane Forbes Clark, in the lead; Boris was the left wheel for the first time and Senate in the right wheel.”

Team Weber drove away with a score of 38.83 in the dressage test, proving that Weber has lived up his title as “the dressage specialist,” a term coined by the foreign press. Weber received the high praise during his 2011 European summer tour in which he kept the American flag flying high in winner’s circles in Austria, Hungary and Germany.

“When Uniek and Splash joined my team this time last year I was anxious to see what type of additions they would make, and I am thrilled with the depth they have added to my team. They are two of the most talented horses in the sport,” Weber said. “I have learned a great deal about them over the past year and I am looking forward to the future and believe that it will be strong.” Splash was also named the 2011 Champion in the National Combined Driving Four-in-Hand Horse of the Year category, with Weber’s Reno W earning the Reserve Championship. The other members of Weber and Clark’s Team,

Uniek, Rolex W, Para, and Boy W, rounded out the Four-in-Hand Horse of the Year honors.

The Little Everglades CDE was a selection trial for the 2012 World Championships in Germany, a championship that Weber has his sights set on. Up next for Weber, however, is the Live Oak International Driving Event, which runs March 22-25. This is the event’s 20th anniversary, and it will for the first time be hosting an FEI CSI** show jumping in addition to the USEF National Championships for Four-In-Hand horses, giving Weber the chance to win a ninth title as the United States National Four-In-Hand Champion.

“Our dressage and marathon phases at Little Everglades were fantastic and I think we are well prepared for Live Oak,” Weber said. “We had a great 2011 and 2012 is going well and meeting my expectations. I am very pleased and am looking forward to the World Championships in Riesenbeck and the 2014 World Equestrian Games in France.”
